I had a facelift almost a year ago, but I can't see much change. Nobody else sees it either. How do doctors know how much to do so that it's a facelift that makes a difference? Is it a 50/50 chance that it will come out good or is it something the doctors really have any control over? Is it hit or miss or can doctors really target how much to do so it makes a difference? I might get this done over but am not sure it would work the next time, either. Very discouraged.

Answer: Not much change after facelift?
Yes, there should be enough change in rejuvenating your face to justify having the procedure. Of course, without seeing before and after photos, it is hard to say whether your procedure was beneficial to you. Not always, no matter how much improvement is achieved, does a patient hear the compliment from a friend or relative that they crave. This does not minimize the great results in rejuvenation that may be achieved.

Answer: Minimal change after a facelift
There are several possibilities on why your facelift was not successful.
1. Technique- Specific techniques do not have long lasting and durable results. This may lead to minimal or no change seen in the face and or neck area.
2. Facial anatomy- Some patients may not be a candidate for a facelift. You should review your goals with your surgeon to determine if they are realistic or you are a candidate.
