Would a chemical peel or PRP help with crepey skin and wrinkles under my eyes? (Photos)

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. Both approaches boost the body's natural collagen production, rejuvenating the skin from the inside out. A series of superficial peels can be helpful for diminishing under eye crepey skin. These include full strength salicylic or glycolic acid, Jessner's solution, or low concentration TCA. All have proven helpful in this way. Medium depth peels and certainly Deep Peels, on the other hand, engender a significantly greater risk of scarring and dyspigmentation. PRP, despite the hype surrounding its use, still remains an expensive modality that lacks hard science to back up its use in skin rejuvenation. Since the wrinkles and crinkles appear to be pronounced with movement, a few tiny microdroplets of Botox may be in order, as well. Hi, thank you for your question! I would recommend starting with PRP injections for your under-eyes. Unfortunately with chemical peels there is a restriction with how close they can be to the eye area. PRP can be used with 1-3 sessions every 6-8 weeks for best results. PRP is then typically repeated annually. CO2 could also be used for your under-eyes to help with fine lines and crepiness.

Although a leveling peel or laser would improve the area, the down time is significant and there is a much better way. Even if you decide to do a peel, you need to be on tretinoin (Retinol-A) and Obagi’s ELASTIderm to stimulate collagen and elastic tissue which you are losing because your body has stopped making it automatically. This, in itself, will help but adding micro needling or Fraxel laser will speed the process. See someone who is an expert in skin care.
