I am wanting Kybella in the under chin area but have two large visible veins there ..is it safe to get kybella injected where you have veins..also can filler be injected about the knee-cap area into a line?
Answer: I want Kybella but have two large visible veins under the chin area, is it safe to get it where the veins are? Thank you for your questions. An in-person exam would be required to be sure, but I believe that you should still be able to get Kybella despite the veins. The product should be able to be injected around the areas of concern. Make sure you see an experienced injector for a discussion and exam.Best of luck!

Answer: Kybella and large veins? Chin contouring Yes, you should be able to get Kybella. Both Kybella or neck liposuction are good options and will improve the double chin. A chin implant can improve projection. It depends on your lifestyle and personality which would be better for you. Kybella is best for patients that: 1) Do not want surgery 2) Are not surgical candidates 3) Not willing to wear a compression dressing around the face for 1 week 4) Patient- The results of Kybella will take months Kybella take 1-3 treatments every 6 weeks. Patient will develop swelling and possible bruising after each injection that may last a few days. The benefit of Kybella is each treatment is quick and completed in the office. However, some patients need more than one treatment to get desired results. Neck Liposuction is best for patients that: 1) Want a single treatment 2) One recovery time- Downtime for neck liposuction require wearing a wrap around face for 1 week. 3) Less painful 4) Quicker results 5) Cost is a concern Neck liposuction is a quick surgical procedure that can be complete while the patient is awake. It cost around the same price a Kybella and can be less in patients with heavier necks. The single recovery of neck liposuction may be a better option for some patients. I hope this helps.

Answer: Kybella Dear RS2008,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Fat dissolving injections are injected into a “safe zone” under the chin Fat dissolving injections are injected into a “safe zone” under the chin, into a region known as the “preplatysmal fat”. This is to avoid the important structures that pass deep to the muscle in the neck, and especially to avoid injuring the nerve that controls the lips. Provided that this safe zone is identified, the injections have not been demonstrated to have permanent side-effects. A skilled injector will be able to easily avoid the veins in your neck, but to reassure yourself you should point them out before the injection! Bruising is a common side effect of any injection, and can always be covered with make-up until it resolves in 48-72 hours.
