I have seen a few surgeons and all say that I need more done to my nose. One said I won't be happy with the results. I won't be happy with a whole new nose. I don't want to remove my hump entirely. I just want it shaved down on one side so I have more angles to work with because I am an actress. I do want the tip raised a little, so my profile won't be so harsh. BUT I still want my hump and a slightly less droopy tip. Is a partial rhino possible? Can I get both sides to look great?
Answer: Partial rhinoplasty It's impossible to get a partial rhinoplasty performed on this nose and yet have it look natural. There is a large hump present which is composed of both bone and cartilage which will need to be shaved down. Even a partial shave of this hump will leave a flat top appearing nose. Osteotomies will be required to narrow the bridge line. The tip cartilages will need to be balanced with remainder of the nasal bridge line so it looks natural. Answer: Requesting subtle changes in rhinoplasty
First, it is possible to get a rhinoplasty that only partially corrects a hump and droopy tip. However, there is no such thing as a "partial rhinoplasty" since you still have to address the entire nose even to get the subtle changes you are after. Any change you make to one side of the nose affects the appearance from other sides as well, since all the structures are interconnected inside. Your nose is asymmetric, and you have to keep in mind it is a 3D structure, so it's not like you can just shave down one side to make one photo angle look better and expect that the rest of the nose will look the same. It just doesn't work that way. That being said, you can leave a partial hump and you can leave the tip slightly droopy if that is the look you want. I understand your wanting to maintain your look, especially as an actress, and this can be achieved. Any surgeon who does a lot of rhinoplasty will caution you, however, because in many cases where patients push for a partial improvement, they come back later and request the full improvement that the surgeon wanted to do in the first place. This leads to frustration on both sides, and more cost and recovery time for the patient. Just make sure you communicate your exact desires to your surgeon, and see if the surgeon feels your expectations are reasonable and that he/she can deliver those results. It is really important that you trust the surgeon understands the aesthetics you find attractive. I do feel that by making the request for the surgeon to do less than what he/she thinks will make your nose look it's best, you also limit the results of the surgery. As long as you know that, and are still confident that you will be happy with minor changes, then you can proceed. In the right hands, you can get a rhinoplasty that reduces the hump and drooping tip and still look like "yourself" or a better version of you. It does not mean you have to lose your identity or get a "cookie-cutter" or stylized nose. Make sure you consult with board certified plastic or facial plastic surgeons with experience doing rhinoplasty.

Answer: Rhinoplasty questions Your problem, from my standpoint, is that you have yet to find a surgeon who you fully trust to do the right thing for your nose.having a rhinoplasty done entails a lot of trust and pretty much you need to be willing to leave it in the hands of a surgeon who you feel really knows what he or she is doing.

Answer: Partial Rhinoplasty
I do not believe it is possible to do a partial rhinoplasty. The goal is to keep your nose in some balance which is done by doing a full rhinoplasty.
