I Waited Six Months to Have my Rib Rhinoplasty Reversed, Straight Nose Before, What Can I Expect Now?

It is unfortunate that you were unsatisfied with your results so you had your surgery reversed.

At this point, it is not realistic to predict your final results as it is highly unlikely that the use of the rib cartilage was the only thing your surgeon did during the procedure; several adjustments were made to modify your nose.

With that perspective, reversing your rib rhinoplasty will not result of the SAME nose you had before surgeries. That said, no one can predict the final results but your surgeon, knowing of all the details of your surgery, should be able to provide you with a fair idea of what to anticipate.

This is unfortunately a common thing I see these days. The rib can be removed now and reconstructed with cartilage and soft tissue. 

This is a very difficult question to answer. If little was done to your nose other than some rib cartilage being laid on top to add height, then it should look similar to the way it did prior to the surgery. Unfortunately, it is much more likely that a variety of things were done at the time of the original surgery with rib grafting only being a part. If this is the case, once you remove the rib graft, it will look much different than it did prior to your surgery. Typically, a number of changes are made to the nose, with the rib cartilage being added at the end. In doing this, the cartilage camouflages a variety of issues that will be revealed once the cartilage is removed. It is likely that more will need to be done, other than just removing the cartilage. It is important that you find a very experienced rhinoplasty surgeon for this surgery. Good luck.

It is difficult to predict the outcome but if healing occurs as expected, your nose should be similar to its preoperative shape. Occasionally, scar tissues may cause certain changes that make it difficult to foresee. Best thing to do is follow up regularly with your surgeon postoperatively. Good luck

 It depends on wheteher the Rhinoplasty Surgeon removed some of your nasal dorsum before placing the dorsal rib graft.  If that was done, your old nose is gone and will never return.  In consiulting with patients regarding Revision Rhinoplasty I help them accept this fact and then move on to make the nose as naturally attractive as possible.  

The removal of your graft will eventually leave you in about the same condition as your original pre-operative condition (with some healing time, of course).

In my experience the nose is pretty much what you had before after rib removal. Be sure to express your desires with your surgeon. Perhaps the rib can be diced and reinserted this is a smoother contour and still raises the dorsum
