At least from the photo, the scar appears to be keloidal. The treatment of choice is intralesional injections of anti-inflammatory agents to flatten and shrink the scar and diminish the reddish coloration. In my more than three decades of experience, silicone patches, gels, etc. are of little value and massage of minimal value, as well.
