Facial Imbalance from Downward Jaw Growth – Would Genioplasty Help? (Photos)

I am seeking your expert opinion regarding concerns I have with my chin and lower facial proportions. Over the past few years, I’ve noticed a downward growth pattern in my lower jaw which I believe has caused the following changes in my appearance: A longer and more vertically stretched lower third of the face A recessed-looking chin Fuller or more prominent lips, especially the lower lip Overall oval or downward-tapered face shape I do not have any bite-related issues, and my dental occlusion feels normal. My concern is mainly aesthetic. From my own research and observation, I suspect this is due to vertical mandibular excess and slight posterior rotation of the lower jaw, which may have also contributed to soft tissue changes like lip prominence. I am currently exploring the possibility of a sliding genioplasty — specifically: Vertical reduction to shorten the lower third of the face Forward advancement to address the recessed chin and improve facial balance I would deeply appreciate your professional input on whether genioplasty alone could address these concerns effectively, or if any additional interventions might be recommended in my case. I am also open to undergoing a cephalometric X-ray or CBCT scan if needed. Please let me know if you'd like recent photos or additional details. Thank you for your time and consideration.
