I had an incarcerated umbilical hernia repair with mesh (partially unexpected) with TT after weight loss of 120lbs. I like my PS. But I was surprised the incision extended so far and high, and that I had no belly button. 6.5 lbs removed. Pain was horrible. One JP came out on day 5. I'm on day 14 and drain about 40 ml/ day on the remaining JP (was in the 600s day 3). Is T area ok?On average: How long are they in? When can I safely return to semi active work? Not sleep in recliner? Not feel beat?

You have pain because you have an open wound. The right side looks to have healthy tissue but the incision has opened up and that is why it hurts. That is normal, but I would ask how long your surgeon thinks it will take to heal. I am guessing many weeks, or is the surgeon planning to try and...
This is likely just a progressive tension suture which will resolve with time. Your surgeon will know for sure. Don't worry about it for now and just wait for your first follow up appointment.
You may have some fascial laxity in this area that can cause a bulge. Revision of the rectus fascial plication can correct this but it would be a trip back to the OR.
