Absolutely. A conservative buccal fat pad reduction is paramount. You do not want too much fat removed because it will make you look gaunt and aged. Buccal fat is resistant to diet and exercise, like any deep face/neck fat area. In general, removing a walnut sized amount of fat from each buccal fat area is appropriate and will not over-hollow you.
