I had vanquish done on my outer thighs and back of legs three days ago. During the treatment I had a searing, stabbing pain that wouldn’t go away no matter how much the technician adjusted the panels. I understand these hot spots are normal. Now I have a rather large (6”) and very painful lump that is red and hot to the touch. Is this considered a normal narcotic fat lump?

It is not unusual for tender lumps to develop after Vanquish. The more hydrated you are, the more comfortable the procedure. I suggest drinking at least 8 glasses of water the day before and the day of the procedure. The lumps will become less tender and eventually disappear with massage and continued hydration. Good luck

Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this. Your description is larger than most I have seen or heard of. It is not unusual for these to be quite painful. Hydration is important both for preventing these and helping their resolution. Acoustic wave therapy immediately following a Vanquish Me treatment often prevents their development. Lymphatic massage may help this to resolve more quickly. I would delay your next treatment until the pain is largely resolved.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
