Vaser Lipo to Lower Cheeks, Risk of Irregularities?

Question

I was wondering if vaser lipo together with subsequent micro cannula liposuction to the lower cheek area is a good procedure. I understand that irregularities with lipo are common, especially in the facial region but will the risk of these irregularities be lower due to the use of vaser and micro cannula? I would like to hear opinions.

You can perform VASER Liposuction to the face, jowl, neck and cheek areas and it works well. The VASER ultrasound breaks up the fat to allow you to work superficially under the skin, which is where all the fat is located in the face. It helps to also tighten the face during the healing process. With any liposuction procedure to the face there are risks. The nerves that control the facial muscle movement can be injured either permanently or temporarily. There is also a risk of contour irregularities as with any liposuction procedure. The key is finding the right surgeon to do the procedure.

	Vaser for removal of buccal and submental fat is one of the best tools available to surgeons currently. It is very likely to give you better contours than with conventional micro-cannula liposuction. Skin tends to retract well after Vaser.

	However, Vaser still has risks like any surgical procedures of this nature, albeit may be to lesser degree than with a conventional liposuction

	. Here are some of Vaser risks: swelling, bruising, scars, uneven contours, poor skin retraction, skin loss, infection, nerve damage. Careful consideration of potential risks and making an informed choice is the way forward.

In general fat in the face is a valuable commodity and it is rare that one would ever need volume removed from their face. While lipo contouring of the neck is common and necessary and Vaser is quite good for that, it is usually unecessary to use lipo contouring around the jawline and especially in the cheek areas. As patients age, these fat deficits wil become more noticeable and likely lead to a hollow and unhealthy appearance. While your situation may be different, in general I would not advocate fat removal from any part of the face above the jawline.

The combination of Vaser Ultrasound and tiny cannula liposuction is excellent in the face and neck area and in skilled, competent hands with much experience, the risk of any problems whatsoever problems is miniscule. Find an ABPS surgeon that is very experienced with the VASER system and you will be very safe and results will be great. The Vaser Liposuction system makes instruments specifically for use on the face. Their face kit is an excellent system to define the jawline and neck, and sculpt the lower face. However, with every surgical instrument, the most important instrument is the surgeon performing the surgery.
