Flu like symptoms after Juvederm? Could I be reacting to the bacteria used to produce Juvederm?

i got 1 syringe of juvederm injected into my cheeks and lips 10 days ago. At day 3 i started feeling very fluish; muscle aches, headache, fatigue, nausea and painful inflamed nodes in the neck. Its now been 10 days and i still feel sick. Could i be reacting to the gram positive bacterial proteins from the bacteria used to produce juvederm? How long will this last? I have gotten juvederm about three years ago, could i have developed antibodies to it? Is this dangerous?

Hello!  It is not unusual to feel the product for up to 10-14 days.  Juvederm in particular feels more firm then restylane silk and I have used both for myself personally  and my patients.  The product usually settles within 2 weeks and you will feel your soft lips again....

You are young and have full lips so you may benefit from only a half of a syringe of Juvederm however you can evaluate the results at the time of treatment. If you desire more fullness to upper and lower lips I would recommend a full syringe. This filler should give you a very nice...

No, you don't have to be over 21. I love fillers in younger patients , I suggest belotero, restylane silk or juvederm ultra to just give a little plump without much size. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.
