Overbite and teeth crowding: what would be the best course of action to improve side profile? (photos)

I’ve never had any cosmetic surgeries. I am aware I had quite the overbite and teeth crowding when I was younger and received braces treatment as a teenager and also did it again around 26 years old because my teeth shifted. I am wondering should I have had jaw surgery along with this and if perhaps I can get it covered under benefits.

With orthognathic (jaw surgery) surgery, you would improve your bite and cosmetics and it is sometimes covered under insurance, If you are mainly concerned with cosmetics, then a chin implant, jawline and chin liposuction and platysmaplasty would improve your facial balance.

Although jaw surgery is a large procedure, the outcome will be life changing. During the process, we work closely with orthodontists to make sure your bite improves and your teeth are aligned. This usually involves getting Invisalign and alternating trays throughout the process. Not only will your bite improve, but your profile/aesthetic will as well. During a consultation, we will take photos of you and morph them to show you what the physical outcome will be, which helps to give you a better idea of what you will look like after. Although jaw surgery will improve your quality of life, we also understand it is important to be on the same page about what your appearance will look like as well. As for benefits, jaw surgery is usually covered under insurances. We cannot say for certain that 100% of all costs will be covered, but a majority of it usually is.
