Is Silicone proven to reduce scarring? What are my options if the scars don't heal well? (Photo)

I had laparoscopic abdominal surgery 8 wks ago. I asked my doctor about silicone & he said there's "zero evidence" it works. He said do nothing, but I feel like there must be something I can do. Is silicone proven to help with scars? Would shapewear/compression help? Is taking collagen good or a bad? What are my options if it doesn't heal well? I feel self-conscious about the wound in the center that makes it looks like I have two belly buttons
