How do you know if your really allergic to Botox?

Thank you for your question! A true allergy to Botox is very rare. I have never seen it and I have treated thousands of patients. Sometimes people are allergic to the saline or other diluent used to reconstitute the product. Further, symptoms of an allergic reaction include symptoms such as swelling, redness, and itching. Symptoms such as flu-like symptoms, panic attacks, and depression are unlikely related to a Botox treatment. If I had a patient with these concerns I would recommend that she be evaluated by her general physician. Best of luck! 

Typically an allergic reaction involves an infection or systemic anaphylactic reactions. what you have described may not be related to the Botox. Follow up with your injector to discuss your options and concerns.
