Pause Retin-A Use Prior to Sunny Vacation?

I began using tretinoin 0.05% two months ago. I've been very careful about applying and reapplying sunscreen everyday, and avoiding sun as much as possible (which is easy as I live in Vancouver). I am travelling to the Caribbean for two weeks beginning at the end of April. Obviously, I will be doubly careful about sunscreen application while I'm there...but should I also discontinue use of the tretinoin while I'm there? If so, how far in advance should I suspend my tertian use?

You can apply them both at the same time and there is no reason to put on one before the other, however we have a philosophy of doing serums before creams in our office.  Best, Dr. Emer.

HiThanks for your question.Unfortunately what you have described as the skin laxity, loss of elastin ect will need further treatment that produces more drastic results to achieve the desired outcome.
