How effective is Loniten 1.25 (oral monoxide) for hair growth in women 51 years old?

Does it work well or better than topical.Condition is androgenic alopecia and scaring alopecia. can I stop topical if taking orally. Is this dose effective.

In my experience, oral Minoxdil works well with female pattern hair loss. We often combine it with an anti androgen such as finasteride or spironolactone well as  PRP. Treatment of scarring Alopecia depends upon how long the scarring has been present. I think it's important that you use a lower dose of Loniten such  as .25 mg. The side effect profile is superior are we have seen good results.

It can be more effective but is is associated with a greater range of side effects. Make sure you are followed by a physician who is knowledgeable about oral minoxidil. Topical must be stopped in anyone using oral minoxidil. Oral minoxidil is not FDA approved. This does not address scarring (cicatricial alopecia) so make sure that you review with your dermatologist appropriate treatment for your particular scarring alopecia. Low level laser and finasteride present other options for treating androgenetic alopecia. Together with your dermatologist, you can determine if this is appropriate for you.
