Is it ok to have vaginoplasty surgery with perineoplasty while having a Mirena coil in place?

There's no problem at all with having a vaginoplasty or perineoplasty done with an IUD in place. I've done many of these operations and I've replaced many IUDs in women who have had these procedures done in the past. In case you didn't know, the Mirena IUD is approved for 8 years for birth control since 2022 even if your IUD was placed before 2022. I'm surprised that others who have commented on your query don't know this.

You can have a vaginoplasty without risk to the IUD that is in place. It won't be more difficult to remove or replace your IUD because of your vaginoplasty.

Yes, you may have a vaginoplasty or any pelvic repair, for that matter, with an IUD in place. Future replacements of your IUD would not be difficult.

Hello, there is no harm in having vaginoplasty and perinoplasty surgery while you have Mirena IUD. It can be easily removed or replaced with a new one after five years.

The answer is easy: YES. You don’t have to have any concerns. There is however a small risk in that when the cleaning prep in the OR is done, the Mirena threads might get caught in the cleaning sponge and get pulled out.
Unless the vaginoplasty and perineoplasty is done so tightly that a speculum is difficult to insert, there should be no problem with changing the Mirena later. And that would be WAY too tight for normal sexual function and thus not what you should expect.
