Ripple under right breast, 4 weeks post op breast lift and augmentation. What is causing this ripple? Are stitches causing this ripple? Do I need a revision?
Answer: Rippling It is way too early to tell if the visible rippling will be permanent. Please be patient and give it at 8 weeks before making any judgement calls. Discuss concern with your surgeon immediately.

Answer: Ripple under breast It appears that you had a lollipop or vertical type lift. A small ripple under the breast is not at all uncommon after this type of surgery and will relax with time. I would give it at least 6 months to heal, smooth and relax before deciding if a revision is necessary. In my experience, it is unlikely that you will need one. Try to be patient with your healing process. Best of luck!

Answer: Reason for Rippling Hi,Thank you for your question. In a vertical scar technique rippling at the end of the scar is frequently seen at early stages. It is sometimes done intentionally with pulling running skin suture in order to make your scar shorter. It also can be caused by deep sutures pulling your skin inside. Normally it takes 2-3 months to settle down, so please do not worry. Once stitches have dissolved the skin will relax and this ripple will improve.Overall I can see everything is healing nicely and your scar is looking good. However it is always worth it to share your concerns with your surgeon for more reassurance.I hope that helps.Best wishes.Elena Prousskaia

Answer: I am 4 weeks post op and have this ripple under my right breast. Is this normal? Rippling is sometimes secondary to deep stitches placed to ultimately give you a thin scar. Your picture seems to show that, however, I would recommend you see your surgeon to be sure nothing else is going on in that area. Asking about a revision is way to early to even discuss. Healing takes time. More time than most patients are willing to wait. I do not recommend any revision for minimum six months. The best plan for you is to see your doctor and express your concerns. I am sure he or she will reassure you and treat you appropriately.

Answer: Normal? Your vertical mastopexy (lollipop lift) appears fine. The gathering of skin you see at the bottom of the incision is due to the lack of a horizontal incision, which would be required to address the excess skin. This should resolve over time, but if it does not you should consider a skin excision. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
