What is the Hard Bump/knot under my incision site? (photo)

Question

I had breast implants removed a wk ago through the inframammary fold. Originial incision was through my armpit so I'm not familiar with what to expect in this area. Today I noticed a hard bump under one incision. The other one does have a slight firmness to it too but not as much. Is this normal? What is it & is this very concerning? Could it be an infection? I notice some slight pinkish color around the breast but nothing alarming. The purple stuff around the incision is glue.

If you notice any draining, redness, or tenderness at your incision site, contact your surgeon as soon as possible.  This could be a sign of infection.  The knot or bump at the incision site at this time is not abnormal.  This will settle down over time.  Follow up with your surgeon for a complete recovery!

It is not unusual to have a bump or knot at an incision site in just the first week after a surgery.  If the area begins to swell, get red or tender, drain fluid, or you develop a fever, you should notify your surgeon as these could be signs of an infection.  Best wishes.
