Redness after this is normal we have our patients do PDT after therapy with topically applied growth factors and the healing speeds up exponentially! Best, Dr. Emer.
Redness and swelling are expected after a microneedling treatment. When treated with PRP this will improve your results and speed up your healing. The skin usually calms by day 4. Using a calming cream after microneedling is always recommended such as, ZO Revitatrol. Best to you, Dr Faraz
Thank you for your question. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) applied and injected during and immediately after the procedure will all help speed healing. I recommend Alastin Nectar to decrease redness, speed our patients' recovery, and to allow more impressive results. Other options include Skin Medica HA5 and PCA Skin Dual Action Redness Relief. Please check with your physician what he or she recommends. Best of luck,Suneel Chilukuri, M.D.Houston, Texas
Hi @jennygao23! I would recommend avoiding microneedling around active acne to prevent the spread of bacteria. However, if you are doing RF Microneedling like Morpheus 8, you are able to get this procedure done with active acne. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
I don't recommend performing microneedling on yourself. These procedures should be done by an expert. I always combine microneedling with prp and laser treatments to get the best results. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
In addition to Botox, fillers, lasers and microneedling/prp can all improve forehead wrinkles. For the tummy tuck scar, I recommend a combination of lasers and microneedling/prp. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
PRP is harvested from the patient's own blood and can be applied topically to the skin. Blood is drawn from the patient and separated through a spinning process in a centrifuge. Prp is yellow, however there can be some bleeding/irritation with microneedling which can leave you with redness. ...
Microneedling won't cause permanent skin dryness. However, I do recommend following up with your Dr. about skin care. I also always add prp and lasers to microneedling treatments for best results. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
