After hours of research and loving my dentist and temporary veneers I just got the final veneers put on and am devastated. They look bulky and fake. I was led to believe the temporaries might be like that but not the final product. My temporaries looked so much better. What can I do? Without spending thousands more dollars. Help!
Answer: Final veneer too bulky Hi:My suggestion is to go back to your dentist and share your concerns. Some of the concerns can be handled with simple adjustments.Best,Dr. Maddahi

Answer: Unfortunately happens We get a lot of second opinions for veneers and I always feel bad telling the patient that I agree with their opinion, but unfortunately the only choice is to remake the veneers. It is actually more work for the dentist the second time around.

Answer: Bulky Veneers Unfortunately after veneers are permanently cemented, they need to be cut off to be removed. Veneers are usually bonded to your teeth which makes the cement very strong. If you're unhappy with your veneers - go back to your dentist and let them know. Did you approve them before you had them cemented? Even if you did, most likely you dentist wants you be happy with the final product and will be willing to do something to help with cost of redoing them. At the end of the day - that's most important for us. Good luck.

Answer: Bulky and fake, too high value I can see exactly what you are saying. Does your dentist agree with you ? Have you spoken to him/her ? There are 2 issues with these veneers: 1. Morphology (shape) 2. Value (the degree of opacity vs translucency in the porcelain) If you can vocalize these concerns your dentist, they may remove them and make you new veneers at no fee. Typically the temporary veneers are utilized to lay down the "design" of the permanent veneers. So we would want the shape to be worked out on the temporary stage (the shape and size of the permanents should match the temporaries). I don't see any shape similarities between your temporaries and permanent veneers. So these NEW shaped permanent veneers were a "surprise" shape and size..... not typically the best way to makeover a smile. The value is too high. The veneers are too opaque and are reflecting most of the light back at the viewer. Life like veneers, In my opinion allow some light to travel through the porcelain and have a lower value. :) Dr. C
