The answer is that both areas may be injected to reduce nasolabial lines. But you will usually get more bang for your buck with a cheek lift, and if injected on to the bone, the chipmunk effect is negated in my opinion. If there are still significant lines after this you would then also benefit from direct injections just medial to the line.
