When do you use the fanning or cross-hatching injection technique? (Photos)

Is treating the cheeks an option with the following injection techniques: -fanning technique -cross-hatching technique (see photo 'cross-hatching cheeks') Are these techniques superficially or deeply injected? My goal is to make the contours more beautiful, with a minimal volume increase (0.5-1cc). Is this possible with these techniques?

Not sure if this is still an ongoing issue for you but why not get the filler dissolved completely? unless that was already tried? even if it was tried maybe there is still some filler left in there that's causing the pressure on the nerve. u never know. there are measures to resolve this pain....
