Are cheek fillers injected into muscle? Are you sore after cheek filler? Is it painful to smile days after cheek filler?

Cheek filllers are usually thicker and therefore injected deeper.  Examples are Voluma and Restylane Lift.

Cheek fillers are injected into the soft tissue in the midface, either above or beneath the muscle depending on the area you where you need volume. The injections are usually relatively comfortable and there is very little soreness after the treatment. You might experience some slight swelling around the injection sites, which should subside within a day or two. Depending on the filler used, your improvements could last up to one year.
