The medial crural footplate can either be removed or medialized if it is obstructing your airway. If it is resulting in assymetry of your tip or ala (nostril), cartilage grafting from your ear or septum can be used to correct it. I would recommend discussing the issue with your surgeon.
Hello RozeRoze, Thank you for your question.Without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of any treatments it is difficult to be comprehensive. This is also difficult because there is no photo. I am assuming you have asymmetry now between the sides based on your question. If the footplate has been removed completely then the other side can also be reduced but that carries a risk of an unstable tip and possible collapse. You could just place a small graft on the left side to build it up to match the right. Ear cartilage is a reasonable option if septal cartilage from your nose is not available. The other option is filler like juvederm to camouflage the depressed area.I would discuss this with a facial plastic surgeon who can sit down with you and discuss your various options. Good luck, Dr. Shadfar

Some bloody drainage from the nose is normal especially if the procedure includes a septoplasty and turbinectomy. This drainage should decrease slightly every day. Rarely there is significant bleeding a day or two after surgery or extremely uncommonly on the 7th or 8th day after the rhinoplasty....
