I have suffered 2 breaks to my nose nearly 20 years ago and had an unsuccessful manipulation carried out to try to straighten it. I now intend on having rhinoplasty at the age of 40 to correct this, however, 2 surgeons told me I simply required rhinoplasty to fix this issue and one said I needed a full on septoplasty with rib grafting to straighten it. They were all pretty highly recommended so I think I need another opinion; could you let me know what you think? Thanks!
Answer: Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty... Usually a septoplasty is done at the same time as rhinoplasty to both improve the crooked nose and help with breathing. If your nose was straight before the fractures, then there is a good chance that it can be pretty straight again. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty specialist for consultation.

Answer: Rhinoplasty No matter who does your surgery there is a high likelihood of the nose still being somewhat crooked but better than it is now.I don’t see the point of the rib graft. It seems unnecessarily complicated and won’t guarantee that your nose will be straight

Answer: Rhinoplasty or rhinoplasty with septoplasty? Rhinoplasty or rhinoplasty with septoplasty? If your nose was straight before the fracture and the only crookedness is due to the nasal bones then a rhinoplasty without septal work should be sufficient to straighten the nose. If however the septum is crooked, and this can only be determined on physical examination, then a Septoplasty would also be performed. A septoplasty does not necessarily involve rib Cartlidge. There are multiple variations of the procedure depending on what is called for. In some cases the septum is simply moved or Bent , in other cases a portion of it is removed, in other cases the portion that is removed is used as a graft or grafts etc. So there are multiple degrees and levels of procedures that could be done depending on what is called for by what is found on physical examination to be wrong with your nose

Answer: Permanent solution for nasal trauma and deviated nose. If you haven't undergone a septoplasty before, then you've got ribs that can be utilized to straighten your nose. If there is no rib, then rib graft should be considered. Rib grafting is not a complex operation as people usually think, so you do not need to worry. However, as already mentioned, if you have enough septal cartilage, then there is no need for rib grafting anyway. It can surely be better assessed if you could send us pictures of your nose taken from different angles. Finally, if your wish is to have functioning and esthetic-looking nose, then you should have both rhinoplasty and septoplasty.

Answer: I need more information A CT scan with 3D reconstruction is mandatory. Did the previous surgeons work the septum? If not, there's a possibility to do a preservation rhinoplasty (SPQR technique) that improve your deviation and nasal shape. If the septum is broken or been operated, the use of rib graft is the second option.
