I’ve had 1ml of restylane injected into my lips today and they look massive and too pouty (like duck lips). I was told I didn’t have any swelling at the time of injecting so the results I saw in the mirror straight after the procedure are what my lips are going to look like. They looked and still look so stiff and unnatural but will my lips start to look more natural/soft over the next few days or am I stuck with these ? Any advice is appreciated.
Answer: Swelling after lip filler Thank you for your question. Without before and after photos it is difficult to assess if you received too much filler. However, swelling immediately after lip augmentation is very common and can take 10-14 days to fully subside. I recommend scheduling a follow up appointment with your injector 14 days after your original appointment to determine the next step in achieving your aesthetic goals. If you are still concerned with the volume of your lips at that time, you may receive a Hyaluronidase injection to dissolve some of the filler. Hyaluronidase will yield results within the first 24 hours. Best of luck, Dr. Kian

Answer: Swelling after Lip augmentation with Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Volbella) You have swelling, which can last 1-2 weeks after lip injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Restylane One cc of Restylane in the lips is an appropriate amount, and should not be a problem. However, you can get a fair amount of swelling for a few days after the injection. If they are still a problem in a week or so, it can be dissolved if you are concerned about the shape and size.

Answer: Swelling after Restylane Hello and thank you for your question. It is quite common to see some swelling in the lips immediately following Restylane injections. Allow for two weeks post procedure to see full results. I prefer to use a microcannula in my practice for lip injections. This advanced technique increases patient comfort and reduces symptoms of swelling and bruising. Arnica, a homeopathic tablet available over the counter, should help as well.

Answer: Restylane lip and unnanatural Thankyou for your question.Firstly you will be swollen. Everyone who has their lips injected is swollen for the first few days and definitely takes 2 weeks to settle. If then you feel that still look unnatural speak to your injector and he/she can dissolve some of the filler. FYI the first time you have restylane injected it will last 4-6 months so they will go back to the original shape and smile.Good luck
