Why does my nose swell so much, every morning, 2.5 years post op? (photos)

Question

my rhinoplasty in October 2020. There is a lot I'm not happy with like the bump on my right tip, the inverted V, and the crooked tip. but what bothers and worries me most is the excessive swelling every morning that sometimes lasts all day. I feel like I only get to enjoy my straight skinny nose at night when I get home or sometimes the swelling lasts the whole day. Im worried also from a medical perspective, what could it possibly be and what can I do to manage the swelling or reduce it?

Even 2.5 years after rhinoplasty patient may expereince mild/moderate swelling. It helps to tape the nose overnight even this late after surgery. Try to do it evry night for 3 months. Good luck.

Since your surgery was longer than 2 years ago, it is unlikely that there is persistent surgical swelling. If your surgeon used a foreign body in your nose, even non-absorbable sutures, rarely this may lead to nasal swelling that persists. Since it's fluctuating, your nasal swelling at this point could be Related to your dietary salt intake or possibly your menses. For a more definitive answer, please consult with your surgeon. Thank you for your question.From your photos your nose looks crooked to the right, you have an inverted V (visible from front) and there is a bump on the right nostril.I highly recommend you a revision revision. Regarding the swelling, usually it goes away totally after 1 year (or 18 months) but it really depends on your skin. Each patient reacts differently. Best regards!

Try taping your nose at night. There are many online videos on how to do this. It will really make a difference if you experience swelling at night. The other thing is you could have steroid injections which will thin the area out
