What can I do to treat ingrown hairs & scarring? Would the Philips IPL Lumea hair removal system work? (Photos)

I have a ingrown hair that looks like a circle under the skin, I have had this for over a year it won’t go. I also have some ingrown hairs on my bikini line that are just stuck under the skin and it looks like a scar, there’s no way I can get the hairs out I can’t even see the hairs so I don’t know what to do, I’m thinking of buying a Philips IPL Lumea hair removal system, would that help and would it be safe on those areas? Thank you.

Hello, if you are thinking about doing laser hair removal I would definitely recommend going to a professional and not purchasing a home device.  A laser in a doctors office will be much more effective than something you can buy online.  That being said laser hair removal is very effective in reducing ingrown hairs and would be a great option for you.  Good luck!

Hello, thank you for your question and for including photos.  Laser hair reduction is an excellent option for hair removal.  Removing the hair follicles will eliminate the ingrown follicles.  Laser hair reduction is a series of treatments done each month for 6-8 treatments.  A laser, is definitely going to be a more successful treatment than any type of IPL device.  I would look for a provider that has a laser device.Good Luck!
