Since last year I have noticed that my chin has become hollow. I had a voluma injected at -0.5 ml- but I don't think there is any significant improvement. What would you recommend to improve the chin/jawline area? Shall I inject fillers/ have a fat transfer or try treatments like Exilis/Ulthera that tighten the skin? Thank you
Answer: Fat transfer will help you Hello there, You have depression in the right jaw more than the left jaw. A fat transfer will help you. May need multiple stages to correct. Exilis may not help your problem. Hope this helps.

Answer: Facial aesthetic issues To make an assessment it would be helpful if we knew your age and could see full facial pictures. That includes a complete frontal and complete profile picture without facial expression. Most people who have aesthetic issues around the lower third of their face and neck do so related to facial bone structure typically issues related to having an undersized mandible. People with attractive John lines without a double chin and good definition tend to have projecting large Mendibles. People who is Mandible is small in relationship to the Maxilla often present with a dental overbite occlusion, an upper lip that has more forward projection than the lower lip. Premature double chin lack of jawline definition at an early age and even when not obese. Premature jowls are often also associated with having a small mandible. The size and shape of the mandible has a secondary affect and influence how the underlying platysma muscle drapes the neck. Fillers can work well in this area but obviously the results are only as good as the person doing the treatment. Your post live says unable to make a quality assessment or give quality recommendations. For most people with issues typical to what you describe the primary issue is often based on the skeletal structure which is beyond what most people are willing to address surgically. To get an idea of what can be accomplished with fillers alone I suggest you take a look at The website of Dr. David Marbrie in San Francisco. I’m not suggesting that you necessarily travel to San Francisco to get fillers but looking at his before and after pictures will give you an idea of what is possible in the hands of a talented provider. Once you get a clear understanding of what can be accomplished you now have a baseline I need to find providers in your community who can do that type of quality work. One have cc a filler may be insufficient to get the results you’re looking for. More important than how much product is used is placing it correctly and that is a skill that some people do better than others. You could also opt for having in person consultations for local board-certified plastic surgeons or oral surgeons in your community. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
