5th day after FUE hair transplant and already lost hair. (photo)

I had a very small hair transplant at my temple and I've lost hair already. I'm not sure if it's just shedding or if I lost grafts/follicles. I woke up with 4 hairs on my pillow and 1 when I was in the shower. I am very, very gentle with my hair, I didn't scrub. I also gave my best to not sleep on my transplanted area at night. Note that I didn't have any bleeding when I found those hairs. Did I lose grafts/damage the follicles? It seems to early to lose hair or am I in the clear?

Unfortunately you may be finding out that FUE is NOT a "scarless" surgery.  Your donor hair may have been over harvested.  You may also have a condition called Alopecia Areata.  It is difficult to tell with photos alone.Donor area should NOT look like this after a FUE.

It can take 6 to 12 months after surgery to see results.  If you are concerned it is best to contact your doctor.  If you have bumps it is also a good idea to see your doctor to find out what it is.

If you don't plan your surgery right and don't have the right master plan your chances of looking worse after surgery is likely high.

Swelling can occur after any hair transplant procedure.  If you are concerned it is best to contact your doctor.  Swelling is NOT normal after one month.

If you are having issues after surgery, especially with "indentation and bumps" you should contact your doctor.

At less than 4 weeks it is normal to experience some itch at the site of healing wounds. This generally should resolve by the 6th month when a significant wound healing landmark has been achieved. In severe it, you could take non sedating antihistamines. However, if there is redness associated...
