Generic Finasteride effectiveness compared to Propecia? Are they the same? Is there side effects?

I am looking to move away from propecia to the generic finasteride products that seem to be available in abundance at the moment (due to significant difference in price). Given that the active ingredient is the same, is there likely to be any difference in the effectiveness of the drug? Or even the side effects?

All generic medications are bio-actively the same but sometimes the fillers are different which theoretically could make a difference, but this is unlikely. IMO there should be no difference. The dosage should be 1 mg.

yes, the active ingredient is the same, finasteride. There is no difference in the effectiveness or side effects of the drug.But you have to be sure that recommended dosage is 1 mg  per day ...

When you compare Propecia vs generic finasateride, if the genetic is FDA approved, then it should be equal to the brand name drug
