Why discoloration after cosmelan peel and cosmelan 2 application? (Photo)

i had the cosmelan peel done 5 days ago. apparently i am peeling very fine but some part of my face is lighter than the rest. its like i am having white patches. i reacted to the hydra k factor of which an aqueous cream was substituted. i have reduced application of the cosmelan 2 to only places that are still peeling. i use my moisturizing sunscreen (spf50). what could be the cause of that? what do i do?

Cosmelan formulations have changed over the years. In our office, we use a combination of Melarase AM and Melarase PM followed by Melapeels to address melasma and hyper pigmentation. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles

For melasma, I prefer a combinationapproach that includes resurfacing with lasers, microneedling toimprove skin quality and chemical peels. Melasma treatment isongoing. Please avoid the sun and consult with an expert in person.Best, Dr. Emer
