I had my first cosmelan MD step 1 treatment Jan. 2016, followed by the step 2. I am on cosmelan 2 maintenance treatment after the step 2. Per my assessment I still need to have another treatment. My melasma in my bilateral cheeks slightly fade away , but the brown spots in the area of my forehead and temple were still lingering. I wanted to know if I can have another treatment of step 1 & 2 by next year. Your expertise/opinion is highly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, This is very normal and nothing to panic.Usually one can start using cosmelan 2 from day 5 after cosmelan 1 after which the skin will slowly lighten up. Hope you are using your sunscreens properly. But it is advisable to meet your doctor and follow their instructions. Good luck.
Hi, Thanks for sharing your query. Cosmelan is one of the best option to treat melasma, There are other options too. Sun protection is highly recommended in general for any skin with pigmentation. Kindly meet a board certified expert to evaluate your condition and plan your treatment. Good luck.
I would suggest starting Melarase AM and Melarase PM followed by Melapads to help reduce discoloration of the skin. To enhance results, Melapeels once monthly are appropriate. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles
