Would Dermapen help with large pores like this? (Photos)

Question

hi so just that really! As you can see I have lots of very large pores and also some scarring. Would dermapen help at alll? If not what are my options? Thanks.

Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser.  Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery.

At our practice we love to use microneedling for acne scarring on all skin types.  By your pictures, it looks as if you are a great candidate for microneedling with Dermapen or Rejuvapen.  I get more power out of Rejuvapen with the spinning and vibrating hair-thin needles.  My patients love their results when they do a package of treatments and can combine treatments with injections, TCA Cross, at home products like Sente' BioComplete Serum and chemical peels or lasers.Hope this helps.  Good luck.

For many of my patients who have large pores, Dermapen has made a difference. I recommend a series of at least three treatments. In addition to Dermapen, my patients with scars often have platelet-rich plasma injection in conjunction with Dermapen. I also recommend a maintenance regimen, including glycolic acid wash and exfoliant and topical retinoid. For all patients, I recommend anti-oxidant serum and sunscreen to minimize sun damage and aging, as a result.
