Butt hurts when I sit down 6 months after bbl reversal - what can I do?

Question

I had liposculpting to my hips in October 2023, surgeon inserted fat into my butt 1500cc each cheek, despite requesting natural results to the hip dip area and opting out of projection. In Feb 2023 I had revision, surgeon removed 1500cc. Directly after the surgery my butt looked natural but over the last few months it has grown and is massive. I am now in constant agony, my butt hurts when I sit down it feels like a burning aching pain it’s unbearable. My surgeon is away, what should I do?

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Delivering consistent quality liposuction, and the fat transfer results is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons was mastered. These procedures are in a small minority. Considering how much variation there is in skill and experience with these procedures, I recommend patients of multiple in person consultations before scheduling surgery. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients with similar body characteristics to your own. An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. There’s no correct number of consultations needed to find the right provider. Considering how much variation there is in provider, skill and experience, I suggest patients schedule at least five in person consultations before scheduling, permanent body contouring procedures. I recommend patients avoid a virtual consultation, and do not recommend traveling long distances to have elective surgical procedures. 
The surgeon who did your revision surgery is the one who is responsible for the outcome of the procedure, and that is who you should follow up with. If that happens to be inconvenient or require travel, then you can consult riders as a second opinion consultation. I don’t think there’s anything a plastic surgeon can do for treating a postoperative discomfort. Pain is not some thing plastic surgeons generally are good at treating. 
It may be worthwhile to get an assessment to make sure everything is healing the way it should. Follow up with your provider or request a second opinion consultation from another plastic surgeon in your community. For second opinion, consultations a recommenda patients come prepared bringing your family a complete set of before, and after pictures and copies of your operative reports. Since you’ve had two procedures, you should bring the before, and after pictures and upper reports of each of your previous operations.
