Hi, I have Rosacea and would like to know if Ulthera tends to intensify the redness/rashes? I have seen people's faces flared up post-Ulthera and am concerned that it will be make my symptoms worse. Please advise. Thank you.
Answer: Using Ulthera to lift the face and neck - Los Angeles
Ultherapy works well in collagen rich skin such as those patients with rosacea. Our office tends to customize Ulthera treatments based on skin type and fascial laxity. Raffy Karamanoukian, Los Angeles

Answer: Ulthera & Rosacea
There have been no studies to support that Ultherapy worsens rosacea. Ultherapy penetrates much deeper than the vessels responsible for the redness seen in rosacea. If one has rosacea, it is possible to notice some transient flushing after treatment, but this is typically temporary.

Answer: Ultherapy can be used in patients with rosacea
Although there is no direct cause and effect with Ultherapy causing rosacea, anyone who has rosacea can have a flare at different times in their life. Sometimes triggers are well known to that person and other times the patient is not aware as to what brings on flushing or new blemishes. Stress is one trigger for many people and having Ultherapy can be stress from the fear of the unknown, the discomfort or other reasons.
I have not had a patient of which I am aware whose Rosacea flared after Ultherapy, but I can not imagine if one did, that it would take long to reverse itself provided the patient used their rosacea medicine.

Answer: Ultherapy and Rosacea
Dear patient, I have seen 2 patients whose Rosacea flared for a few days after Ultherapy. They both returned back to their controlled skin after a few days. Ultherapy heats up the deeper and sometimes more superficial layers of the skin (depending on which of the 4 hand pieces are used). Heat and stress are common triggers for Rosacea. Please make sure your doctor gives you a topical Rosacea cream to prevent a temporary flare.I use Cleocin T lotion or Metrogel.yours Dr David R
