We would advise patients to combine Ulthera with chemical peels, Botox, Radiesse, and other fillers. I would recommend Ulthera once the peeled skin is well healed and non-tender. Raffy Karamanoukian, Los Angeles
There are many variables when doing chemical peels. There are superficial (very superficial or superficial), medium and deep chemical peels (the latter are rarely done these days). Depending on which peel a patient has, the amount of exfoliation or epidermal loss can be significantly different as well as the time required to heal. Ultherapy might be done sooner after a given chemical peel, if the deeper transducers are used but there might be more time needed if the superficial 1.5 mm. transducer is used as there can be some temporary welts in the skin and this might be exacerbated if done immediately after a chemical peel. Hi Clare, I agree with my esteemed colleague, Dr. Weiner. Once your skin has recovered from your TCA peel then have your Ulthera. Usually about 2 weeks after the peel is fine. Enjoy your facial rejuvenation! Good luck and be well. Dr. P
Thank you for your question.A multimodality approach to rejuvenation of the face is common to achieve optimum outcomes, from the skin down, which includes treating texture, wrinkles, laxity ...After a chemical peel, I would wait 2-3 weeks before Ultherapy is done.We perform Ultherapy in our Santa Monica, CA offices and WIlliamsville, NY office.Read our Ultherapy book on the link below.
In my opinion you should wait for at least 90 days to do Ulthera after a TCA peel. Although it would not harm you to do the Ulthera before that, you're cheating yourself. The effects of the peel will take that long to show and the collagen production as a result of the peel will probably not be enhanced by the Ultherapy and visa versa. In other words, the skin is healing from the peel and further treatment during the healing process just causes more damage, slows the initial healing from the peel ( the collagen repair in the dermis you can't see ) and makes the body's work more difficult. In this case, more would not be better and you're wasting your money and taxing your body's repair system. Be patient, slow and steady truly does win the race!!
You could probably do the Ulthera immediately after the peel, but because there is liberal use of ultrasound gel, it's better to wait til the skin is done peeling. It really does nothing to the outer skin, so don't worry about affecting results of the peel.
Ultherapy is purposely avoided being performed over the thryroid. Although this precaution is observed, it would be prudent for you to have your physician performing your treatment aware of your condition. The information provided in Dr. Shelton's answer is for educational purposes only and...
Lip waxing might be approved by the doctor performing your Ultherapy for the next day, however, if there was the utilization of the 1.5 mm. superficial transducer, and if welts had occurred and persist, then the skin might be more susceptible to injury by the waxing. Please be sure to check with...
The treatment of Botox involves injecting the Botulinum toxin into the correct anatomical site to relax those muscles. Whether there is some swelling in the area or not should not make a difference when administering Botox injections to make wrinkles soften.  The information provided in...
