I have porcelain veneers on my front 8 teeth. Previously, I had bonding on the two front teeth. I like my veneers but loved how the bonding made my front teeth longer; the veneers are shorter. Now the two front veneers are cracked. Can I keep my other veneers and have the two front veneers replaced with bonding? I know it could be hard to get a color match and they might not last as long but lots of beautiful people have two front teeth that are slightly different from the other teeth. Thanks!
Answer: Mixing #dentalbonding and #veneers ... #DrSarahThompson #STL Bonding should always be thought of as a temporary fix when being used cosmetically on your front teeth. This is because bonding stains very easily and chips easily, as well. I would highly recommend going to a cosmetic dentist that knows what they are doing and having them redo the two veneers in the front. An experienced cosmetic dentist should be able to accurately match the shade and color of your new veneers to the existing ones. If you desire those two front teeth to be longer, this can easily be done prior to the placement of the final veneer. Check to make sure that any dentist that you choose, has great before and after photos of their REAL patients. This will give you the best indication of how capable that dentist is. Good luck and I hope this info helps you. Follow me if you have more questions.Sarah Thompson, DMDSt. Louis, MO Area (O'Fallon, IL)RealSelf100

Answer: Mixing Veneers and Bonding? I think that bonding on your two front teeth could work out nicely for you. To get the result that you want, you must find a skilled and experienced dentist that can show you before and after photographs of patients that he has provided bonding treatment. Many dentists do not believe in bonding full veneers and will do only porcelain veneers. So you must find a dentist that is confident in his skills in providing this treatment. There is a new system developed specifically to create veneers with a resin material. It is call EasySmile Veneers, and I recommend that you do some research into this treatment. One of the nice features is that the dentist can create a Preview Veneers in just a couple of minutes for you to see if you like the result. This can me removed and the permanent EasySmile Veneers can be completed at the same visit in less than 1/2 hour per tooth. They are very natural looking and much less expensive than porcelain veneers. They probably will not be an exact match with your porcelain veneers, but they will be the correct new length and the color should be a pretty close match. I believe you would be extremely pleased with the results.

Answer: Veneers: The best option Based on your question, it seems that longer veneers are what you need (or want), and an experienced cosmetic dentist can definitely achieve that. Make sure to properly communicate your desire for longer veneers, and allow for your cosmetic specialist to guide regarding whether or not that is an ideal option for you. Best of luck,James Asaf, DDS

Answer: Veneers You should have the front veneers replaced, and when they are made they can be made slightly longer as long as it does not interfere with how you function. You need to do your research and go to a very experienced cosmetic dentist. It's very difficult to match teeth, esp in the front.

Answer: VENEERS OR BONDING You can certainly have both, but my feeling is that properly done veneers have both better color, as well as durability. I am also sure that your dentist can, with veneers, lengthen your 2 front teeth to your satisfaction.
