I had a graft for radix dent. Any chance it will improve? (photos)

Hi my wife did revision rhinoplasty 2 weeks ago one of problems was she had dent on the left side of radix,her doctor put cartilage graft but when swelling decrease I can see the dent again ,the graft is in the middle of radix and one on the lower left the doctor also release the adhesion . any chance it ll improve and disappear completly or get better? regards

Thank you for your question.  At 2 weeks post-op there is significant swelling and you will not be able to predict how the area will eventually settle out.  Depending on the scar tissue and dissection, areas will swell and resolve at different rates making overall assessment futile at this point.  Give it more time and keep in communication with your surgeon.

Dear ReadymixAt 2 weeks, it is unlikely to be able to predict outcome from grafts. You need to wait at least 3 months and then assess the outcome. For very small dents/defects at the radix, injectable fillers are a less invasive option in place of a full revision. Be patient and discuss your concerns openly with your surgeon.

At 2 weeks after revision nasal surgery, your wife has significant swelling throughout the soft tissues of the nose and the surrounding areas.  It is too early to judge the final results; as swelling will often makes things appear bigger, puckered, or otherwise distorted.  As swelling subsides over the next few months, the skin and soft tissues of the nose will hug the nasal framework more tightly, revealing a more definitive surgical result.  Maintain a positive attitude, follow your surgeon's instructions, and see him/ her regularly for your post-operative care.  Good luck.
