How to get rid of a 'pulsating' temple vein? (Photo)

Hi, I have a huge bulging vein on my temple which is causing me a lot of frustration. My doctor said it wasn't an artery and that the pulse was coming from the artery beneath the vein. Besides putting on weight what is the best course of action to have this removed? (in UK)
