Nose tip 6 month after open rhinoplasty is bigger than before, is this swelling? (photos)

Question

I want to ask you, after 6 months my tip is bigger than before surgery (especially in the morning, throug the day it gets smaller, but stil its round and i feel it is swallen). My bone was not touched. Is it really swelling, is there possibility my tip will stay that big? : I have the feeling there is one week lass swelling the other more (at 6 month). (During operation doctor streighten the septum and cut cartilage? to make my tip lass hanging (push it back), without changing shape and angle.

It's still too soon to tell what your final results will be. You need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the end. If, one year from now, you are unhappy with your nose, then that is the time to think about a revision procedure. Right now, concentrate on other things you like to do and let your nose and under eyes take the time to heal. You have to give yourself some more healing time. Your nose and surrounding areas are going to be swollen for a while and you should be consulting the surgeon that performed the procedure but give yourself some time before going back in so some of it can subside. It can take up to a year for final results.

Hi.  Thank you for your question.  At six months you still need time to heal.  As you mentioned, swelling will fluctuate until all is gone.  What you are experiencing is normal, however, you should follow up with your surgeon regularly and address your concerns.  Give it some time and you should see a difference.  Best of luck to you.
