I had botox in my forehead 2 1/2 months ago and have developed bad wrinkles around my eyes, I had none before. I now have quite a lot of movement in my forehead so it must be wearing off, but the eye wrinkles havent got any better, could this be permanent damage? Would botox injections around the eyes fix it? If so where and with how much should I be injected? Could injections in eye area cause any other unwanted effects or wrinkles to appear elsewhere in the face?
Answer: Forehead and Eyelid Muscles: Tug of War Thank you for the question and the photos. While it is likely that you had some wrinkles around the eyes before the forehead treatment, relaxing the forehead muscles can make these look more prominent. The two areas are in a constant "tug of war" around the eyebrow and crow's feet area. When one is weakened by Botox, the other pulls relatively more. A simple fix is to put 10-12 units of Botox in the crow's feet areas on each side. Best of luck!

Answer: Botox for Crow's Feet and Forehead Wrinkles Thank you for your question and the photos.Botox doesn't cause wrinkles in other places but it can make them more prominent by altering the balance between muscles in the same region, such as the balance among forehead muscles above the eyebrow and eyelid muscles below the eyebrow.Botox Cosmetic is effective for both forehead wrinkles and laugh lines around the eyes. Typical dosing is 20-25 units of Botox in the forehead and 10-12 units for the Crow's feet on each side. To be sure, see two or more board-certified plastic surgeons in your area for a full and complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have Botox. I hope this helps.

Answer: Botox In The Forehead Caused Eyelid Wrinkles? Botox of the forehead doesn't cause eyelid or periorbital wrinkles. You likely never noticed they were there before. Treat both areas at the next visit and I'm sure you will be happy. I wish you the best of luck, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Botox in the Eye and Forehead area Botox is a great injection but proper placement is key to success. Your Botox was placed a little "low" which makes the brows "move down" and could have caused the appearance of more wrinkles around the eyes. When your Botox wears off I would return to your treating physician and discuss your concerns so that this does not happen again and I would suggest having the crow's feet done at the same time.

Answer: How Botox may give more wrinkles In your after photo, I can see that your mid brow is relaxed nicely, but the lateral brows are lifted a little too much, giving an unnatural "Mr. Spock" eye, with a wrinkle on top of your lateral brows. I am unable to see any worsening crow's feet in your picture, so I assume you are referring to the wrinkles above the lateral margin of your eyebrows. I would suggest that when you are ready for your next Botox treatment you request a small amount be placed above the lateral brows to prevent this side effect.
