This is a great question! Very smart of you to think ahead about your donor hair availability for future hair transplant procedures. The only way to make this type of assessment is by shaving the entire scalp to observe the patterns of hair growth density.

At my clinic, we developed a protocol called the FUE Shave Test. which was published in a premier medical journal. Basically, we look for areas of diminished hair density, (i.e roughly in the nape area) to see if you are genetically predestined to reach the Norwood 6-7 (i.e. severe) stages of male pattern baldness.
