C-SECTION SCAR appearance and adhesions will dermaroller help? (photo)

Question

I delivered my second baby via c section 14 weeks ago, I've got a lot of adhesions throughout the scar (much worse on my right side), you can't pull the skin around at all, it's just 'stuck' in position), i'm wearing a silicone sheet as much as I can and massaging the scar also. Would it be safe at this stage to have dermaroller / skin needling treatment on it? Would this help with the adhesions as well as the appearance of the scar? Many thanks

Thank you for the picture.  I believe that derma roller may be a good source in the future; however, I would probably continue massaging the scar and using the silicone sheets for now.  You may want to see a doctor and inquire about a kenalog injection to soften the scar, but do give yourself time to heal from the C-section.

Hi There Thank you for your question and photograph.This needs careful handling. I would suggest carrying on as you are and even massaging with bio oil.Needling is probably not the best plan as it is contraindicated in scarring that goes beyond the borders of the wound which by definition is keloid.Persist with what you are doing but in these instances I refer patients to my specialist scar surgeon. Do not get sucked in to lasers or anything else for now.Kind Regards Dr Dinesh Maini Zenith Cosmetic Clinics
