Your donor area is limited and the recipient area is large. For your case, we estimate 2000-2500 grafts to cover the hair line, temples and the mid-scalp. A second hair transplant is not possible. A consultation in person will be recommended.

The goal of a hair transplant is to provide fuller coverage while preserving a natural appearance. An assessment takes into account such factors as the apparent thickness and curl of your donor hairs, the color contrast between your scalp and hair, your hair loss pattern, your age, and many other factors. The state of the art technique is FUE (follicular unit extraction), performed with a hybrid blunt punch that minimizes graft transection while allowing for the use of the smallest possible punches to minimize donor site scarring while maximizing regrowth.
In your situation, a procedure of 1800-2200 FUE grafts would be a nice improvement for the front and mid scalp. However, the crown could easily consume over 2000 grafts and not give you significant density. Therefore I would recommend for you to stick to front and mid scalp for a transplant.Gary Linkov, MD

As a Norwood 7 you would not be a good candidate for hair transplant surgery. The donor region is very thin and the amount of coverage is high.

The question is what is your goal, then follow it up with your doctor finding out what is your donor supply and your hair mass index and is what you have capable to covering your large balding area at a cost you can affort.
