Will Ellacor help improve the look of acne scars or make it worse? This scarring includes deep poc marks and is severely disfiguring. Will these scars preclude me from receiving Ellacor treatments? Thanks in advance for your advice.
Answer: Ellacor can help the appearance of Acne Scars Ellacor Micro-Coring is a skin rejuvenation treatment designed to target common signs of aging, including fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars. You may be better off undergoing a dedicated acne scar combination to better address the acne scars. This could include treatments such as lasers, CO2, Bellafill, TCA cross, etc. Consult your provider to determine which combination could be right for you.

Answer: Ellacor - acne scars There are no studies to verify to efficacy of Ellacor with acne HOWEVER.... theoretically it seems superior to laser (except in very dark skin types). I think for fine lines and skin texture along with tricky areas like eyelids, laser has still lots to offer, but Ellacor makes much more sense for tough issues like lip wrinkles and acne scars. There will be much more information soon as the technology has been in process for years but just recently released to market as of today 4/20/2023. All the best!!

Answer: Think Simple, Proven, Relatively Inexpensive Acne Scar Treatments BEFORE The Supposedly "New & Improved" My question here is why jump to trying out a supposedly "next big thing" device before being treated with relatively inexpensive and proven safe and effective treatments that have stood the test following decades of use in all skin types for both safety and efficacy. Ellacor is basically microneedling in which tiny cores of tissue are removed to promote wound healing instead of simply perforating the skin with needles to promote wound healing. To date, it has been tried primarily for treating loose, wrinkled skin. And it remains to be seen whether it will become another "here today, gone tomorrow" device, like so many other devices hyped and marketed in social media. On the other hand, several simple and relatively inexpensive procedures for treating acne scars are available that have stood the test of time. These include Field Subcision for widespread acne atrophy; individual subcisions for elevating and smoothing ice pick and rolling scars; and TCA CROSS for ice pick scars and dilated pores. I have been performing subcisions since 1995 and TCA CROSS for over twenty-three years with gratifying results. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist to discuss proven treatments before potentially falling in desperation into another potentially disappointing and expensive rabbit hole. Hope this helps, and best of luck.

Answer: Treatment of Severe Acne Scarring Yes Ellacor will help your acne scaring as will microneedling or Fraxal laser. Of the 3, microneedling is usually the least expensive. No matter what you do, however, you need to be on tretinoin (Retin-A) in order to start the body making collagen in the dermis. Once you have been on the tretinoin for 4-6 weeks, at least, you can do a series of one of the above at least 4-6 weeks apart. This should markedly improve the scarring over about a year, and may eliminate most of it in 2-3 years. When you start the tretinoin, expect to be somewhat red for about 6-10 weeks. This is a natural reaction and just indicates the product is working, making collagen. Make sure whoever you see to do this thoroughly understands the skin and how it and the healing process works.
