Is the recovery different for FUT vs FUE?

Is there any difference in the implant method between FUE and FUT in the recipient area. Is recovery in that area the same? Want to conceal it and wondering which is better for concealing recipient area

Thank you for your question. There is no difference in recipient area as far as recovery between an FUE or FUT procedure. The difference between the two is in the donor area .

The recovery in the donor area is primarily the difference as the method of harvesting the follicular grafts is different between Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) and Follicular Unit Excision/Extraction (FUE). In both types of hair transplant surgery (FUE and FUT), the recipient area sites are created with the same surgical tools and placement of the follicular grafts into these recipient sites is carried out in the same manner as well. As far as recipient area concealment, many doctors allow patients to keep the "native" (non-transplanted) hairs in this area as is and create recipient area sites and place grafts around the native hairs. Some practices ask that patients fully shave or "buzz" their scalp hairs all over as this can make the graft placement process easier. However, this is not a prerequisite to having either FUE or FUT surgery as far as the recipient area is concerned. That being said, this is a requirement in donor harvesting (from donor region) with FUE.

The difference between FUE and FUT lies in the way the hair follicles are obtained. The implantation phase is basically the same with both techniques.
There are two basic implantation techniques available for both FUT and FUE. The surgeon can either make incisions on the scalp and place the grafts in them using forceps or he can use hair implanter pens, Sharp implanter pens enable the surgeon to create the recipient site and implant the grafts in a single movement.

The difference lies in the donor area not the recipient area. The technique is the same for the recipient. That said, you should note that many surgeons doing FUE shave the front and back. Not all of course but many. With FUT ( strip surgery) many simply leave the front long if they feel it won’t impede the surgery and recipient area graft planting. But the key here is to know that recipient area technique is more or less the same in FUE and FUT.

There is  not any difference in the implant method between FUE and FUT in the recipient area. Recovery  is same . But the  patient  will  have  a  large  scar  on nape  .There will be almost no scar or obvious marks nor at the donor area neither at transplantation site with FUE tech. But ıf you shave your hair with razor, you or others may only realize a tiny white dots on your skin when looked very closely..They are very tiny and invisible scars of punch insertions . Actually I have no complaint about those scars before.
