I was planning on having braids added to my hair so that I wouldn"t need to style or care for it. Is that allowed? Also, if I am menstruating, can I proceed with the surgery?

This can be a pain in the neck.It should be aspirated and if it persists then placing a small drain with compression for 7-10 days should cure the problem.

If you trust your surgeon with your health, you should trust your surgeon with this info.  Purging in the post-op period is a real risk, and can cause post-op bleeding, and compromise your outcome. Wait for total recovery.  Thank you for your question, all the best.
